The "RAISE EU" project has successfully conducted 12 legal information sessions in Athens, Ioannina, and Thessaloniki, aimed at educating recognized refugees about their rights and promoting EU values. The sessions, held in Arabic, French, and English, benefited 54 participants, 85% of whom reported an increased understanding of the Greek legal framework, while 88% noted a better grasp of EU values.
Refugees from Guinea and the Democratic Republic of Congo shared positive feedback, highlighting how the program supported their integration and provided vital information on rights and benefits. Participants expressed interest in further sessions covering topics like labor rights, family law, women's and children's rights, judicial protection, and pathways to long-term residence or Greek citizenship. The initiative underscores the importance of legal education for fostering comprehensive integration.
